Difficulty on Liszts Un Sospiro … Apparently others say its not much harder but honestly imo the middle section impetuoso of Un sospiro is really more difficult than the pieces you mentioned if you want it to sound great but you should definitely …
So I’ve been playing piano for about 2 and a half years now and decided to have an actual good go at Un Sospiro by liszt. I can play nearly full speed up to about the hard part just after the c-c# octave spam part in the middle, but after that it seems so hard to tackle.
Having played both, Un Sospiro is harder. Fantaisie Impromptu’s main difficulty is in learning the 4:3 polyrhythm. There are a variety of methods to do that, and once you learn it, it becomes very natural and something you can do quite readily.
It’s a big step up, but there’s nothing wrong with trying to play it! It seems like you really want to have a go it, so, as they say, just do it. Just make sure not to overdo it and end up hurting yourself because you play for hours and hours with the wrong technique. That’s the only risk, really.
